Dr. Paley
Dr. Grace Paley, a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializes in refractive cataract surgery and corneal disease. Following undergraduate studies at Indiana University Bloomington, she earned MD and PhD degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed internship at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, and then ophthalmology residency and cornea fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.
During her training, she received several research and teaching awards and was nominated to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Dr. Paley returned to Mercy Hospital to practice comprehensive ophthalmology and cornea prior to joining Ideal Eye Surgery. She teaches Ophthalmology residents at John Cochran VA and the WashU wet lab, where she was honored as Clinical Teacher of the Year in 2020. Dr. Paley serves as a board examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and preceptor for cataract surgery and suturing courses at the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting. She is passionate about evidence-based and patient-centered approach to care. In her free time, she enjoys extracurricular activities with her family, smartphone photography, dining out, and travel.
