Dr. Tonya Bourn

Since 1997, Dr. Bourn had the privilege of serving patients as an independent practitioner and clinic owner in Jacksonville and Springfield, Illinois. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis after completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Illinois College.

At Ideal Eye Surgery, she brings a specialized approach to the community. Her philosophy is to provide comprehensive optometry through root cause analysis. As an Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP) with training from the University of Western States in Nutrition and Functional Medicine, she looks beyond the surface to identify how chronic illness, nutritional deficiencies, and other body-wide factors may be influencing your acute or chronic eye issues. This patient-centered approach ensures your vision health is managed comprehensively and with your overall well-being in mind.

Her greatest passion is to listen to and learn from patients. She is dedicated to understanding your history, concerns, and goals, ensuring that every solution is personalized and delivered with the utmost compassion.

When she’s not in the office providing thoughtful care, you’ll find her doing something active! She is an avid athlete and rows with the St. Louis Rowing Club at Creve Coeur Lake.
