Sharon L. Jick, MD, is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who has dedicated her professional career to bringing the highest quality, compassionate care to her patients. She specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology and is skilled in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating a wide range of medical conditions including dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Jick’s practice is built on the belief that optimal eye health supports overall well-being and is essential to how patients experience the world around them.
Dr. Jick grew up in New York and graduated cum laude from Yale University, where she was an English major. She received her MD degree from the University of California, San Diego before completing her ophthalmology residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago.
Throughout her career, Dr. Jick has held leadership positions within the education division of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Currently, she serves as Chair of the Basic and Clinical Science Course Committee, which develops foundational textbooks used by ophthalmology residents and practicing ophthalmologists across the country.
Outside of the office, Dr. Jick is a lead volunteer at the St. Louis Area Foodbank. She is an avid mahjong player and an enthusiastic Blues fan. Most of all, she values time spent with family and friends.
